Background
During the pandemic in 2020, Setan Lee became frustrated because he was separated geographically from his wife, Randa. He was in the United States while she was in Cambodia living at the David Orphanage Center with 60 children plus staff. People all over the globe were facing the same situation-isolation because the pandemic shut everything down. Setan was angry and frustrated, and complained to God about his loneliness and especially his separation from his beloved wife.
With all this weight on Setan, an official in Cambodia called Setan and invited him to host a radio talk show. This official said that this program would be important to help prevent children, teenagers, and maybe even adults from committing suicide due to the COVID lock downs. In Cambodia many people died during the pandemic, so people were anxious with uncertainty about their own lives and the lives of their loved ones. Unfortunately, suicide seemed to them to be the only solution during this time.
When this opportunity presented itself Setan knew, and wanted, that only Scripture would be used as his main resource for this new radio program. He knew that God’s Word was the only thing that would help his fellow countrymen. He negotiated for several hours with this official and they finally came to an agreement. Setan would read the Gospel, starting from the book of John and going all the way to Revelation, and leave room for questions and answers using the Bible as the only reference to help resolve the problems of the callers.
On December 1st, 2020, Transformed Life Radio officially began broadcasting live, Monday through Friday on FM 104.70 from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Each day, chapter by chapter, Setan shared the New Testament. They moved onto the Old Testament when they finished up with the New, and continued to read it chapter by chapter, day by day.
These last 4 years we have seen and experienced God at work in the lives of hundreds and thousands of Khmer speakers from around the world. We have received reports from the radio management that has indicated that at least 3-4 million people are listening to us on a regular basis. Glory to God, our Heavenly Father!
We are now in the harvest season. Our listeners are calling to ask us to pray for them, and to dedicate their lives to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Each month, we have an average of 150 people turning to Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Thank you for your prayers and your contribution towards this radio program so we can provide audio scriptures and other resources for those who are searching. We are poised to move forward, by continuing our broadcast, and grow into another chapter of our ministry.
