I would like to say a bit about why we are going to Cambodia.  We have visited various TransformAsia centers in 4 trips since 2016.  We have gotten to know children, students, staff, and others there.

Since summer 2024, Andy has been teaching a Bible study for the Battambang Dormitory.  First we studied the book of Mark, reading about who Jesus is, what he cares about, and what he did.  I love talking about the good news: when humans were lost and separated from God, God himself came to take away our guilt, paying for it himself by the death of Jesus Christ.  We talked about how Jesus taught his disciples to serve and not raise up their own importance, and about how following many rules can never bring us to God.

Since we finished Mark, we have been studying Acts, learning how Jesus' followers carried on the mission of sharing the good news and helping other believers grow and mature.  These two things (introducing the good news to some, and helping those who have believed to grow) are at the root of the needs and opportunities we saw clearly as we visited in February of 2025.

Pha and I prayed through the Lent season in 2025, and became convinced that we should go.  One remote hour a week through an interpreter is just not enough to communicate with love and relationship a message that changes lives.

So we are looking forward to spending more time with these students, making friends, and sharing how relationship with God outweighs everything else.  We can be forgiven, and accepted into God's family!  Nothing better!
